Marshall Fritz announces temporary reduction of activities

February 28, 2002

Fresno, Calif. ? Marshall Fritz, President of the Alliance for the Separation of School & State, has announced a temporary reduction of Alliance activities.

Due to Marshall's undertaking an aggressive treatment for his prostate cancer, he will be less active for 12-18 months. This will cause a reduction in Marshall's travel and speaking engagements. SepCon2002 has been canceled. Vice President Bud Breslin and Administrative Assistant Morgen Gray will both be leaving the Alliance. Nikki Gradillas will remain as Marshall's office assistant.

Certain activities will be maintained: The weekly on-line newsletter, The School Liberator will continue, as will posting of all new signatories of the Proclamation to the Alliance website. The Education Liberator, a printed newsletter, will be issued less frequently.

The "Triple Androgen Blockade" and chemotherapy has an excellent track record and all are hopeful that Marshall will return to full energy by mid-2003.

The Alliance was founded in 1994 by parents, grandparents, and educators for the purpose of informing people how education can be improved by removing politics from education, that is, ending state, local, and federal government involvement in schooling. The Alliance believes that politics and education don't mix and reforms of the government school systems are futile. Worldwide, over 14,000 have signed a public proclamation stating, "I favor ending government involvement in education." A list of all signatories can be found at https://HonestEdu.org.
